1. The importance of literacy has increased over the last few decades, but it only makes sense to speak your language if you can read it. 2. Even if you are weak in Russian, there is no excuse for not being able to speak to locals. 3. There are many tools that will help you learn another language by watching or listening to native speakers speaking that language without translation, including FluentU and DuoLingo 4. You don't even need to go to Russia or Ukraine to find those tools, as they may be available for you through your universities and language exchange programs. 5. A language is a tool and getting fluent is a byproduct of using it. 6. Your main objective will be to use the new language as often as possible and share it with others 7. You can learn a foreign language that better suits your background by focusing on one aspect of that language at a time, such as listening comprehension or pronunciation of the most important words in the vocabulary of that language. Tek bir soruya, bir cevap verelim. Soru: "Sen güzelce Rusça konusuyorsun ama neredeyse hiç Rusça konuşmuyorsun." Cevap:  "Uzaktan akrabalarımla konuşuyorum  " Felsefe ve  siyaset gibi  konularda her iki dilde  birbiriyle farklı değil.  Yani  ne Rusça ne de Türkçe iki dilde  birbiriyle aynı düşünmeyi imkânsız kılıyor. Başka bir soru: "Neden Türkçe konuşuyorsun ya?" Cevap: "Çünkü herkes sadece Türkçe konuşuyor.  Ama ben de Rusça ile her zaman konuşuyorum.  Özellikle usta lise eğitimine girmeden bile."
